About the role

Due to continued growth we are expanding our accounts department and have a vacancy for a full time Accounts Assistant to assist with:

  • Supporting the accounts department to deal with all day to day accounting,
  • Maintaining all client related disbursements, posting to the case management system and raising payments.
  • Petty cash – receiving requests for money and ensuring entered onto petty cashbook, balancing each month within the case management system.
  • Exporting Legal Aid claims from the case management system, uploading to Legal Aid portal
  • Checking/approving Legal Aid bills
  • Dealing with basic accounts queries from staff, suppliers and others.
  • Preparing cheques
  • Paying in cheques and cash,
  • Checking office/client account throughout the day, posting, raising and approving payments
  • Providing billing support to the fee-earners
  • Processing write off requests
  • Logging InfoTrack/Land Registry searches
  • Checking and posting of firm’s client bills
  • Internal ledger transfers
  • Taking card payments
  • Processing expense claims
  • Assisting with internal reporting
