About the role

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal with Residential Conveyancing experience who is looking to progress towards a qualification as a Solicitor.

This role offers the opportunity to deliver a high-quality service while contributing to the firm’s strong reputation for excellence in residential property work. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced fee earners, assisting with and managing a varied caseload of Residential Conveyancing matters, including:

  • Managing files under the supervision of a fee earner
  • Assisting with sales, purchases, transfers of equity and remortgages
  • Opening new files in line with the Office Manual and compliance procedures
  • Establishing initial client contact, taking instructions and providing guidance on the conveyancing process
  • Drafting and issuing contract packs and supporting documentation
  • Conducting title checks, searches and raising enquiries
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other solicitors
  • Assisting with exchange of contracts and completion procedures
  • Preparing completion statements and post-completion documentation, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients via telephone, email and correspondence
  • Supporting fee earners in the general conduct of cases, including filing, drafting documents and administrative tasks
  • Staying up to date with developments in residential property law and conveyancing practice

Candidate Requirements:
We are looking for applicants who meet the following criteria and can demonstrate:

Essential:

  • Experience in Residential Conveyancing
  • A good understanding of the conveyancing process from instruction through to post-completion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and client-focused approach
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities

Desirable:

  • Completion of the LPC or SQE, with a clear intention to qualify as a Solicitor
  • Experience working towards targets or handling a caseload with supervision
