Debt Recovery Prices

Where a case is dealt with by reference to our hourly rates, the following are applied:

• Grade A (Solicitor & Legal Executives with over 8 years’ experience) £288.00
• Grade B (Solicitor & Legal Executives with over 4 years’ experience) £247.00
• Grade C (Other Solicitors or Legal Executives and Fee Earners of equivalent experience) £200.00
• Grade D (Trainee Solicitors, Paralegals and other Fee Earners) £142.00

Plus VAT at 20% on each of the above.

Preparation, attendance, advocacy, travelling and waiting are all charged per hour or part thereof. Letters out and telephone calls are all charged per item.

In the event that you are successful and awarded a Defendants Costs Order, you will only have to pay the difference between the costs submitted at the above hourly charging rates and the amount subsequently paid by central funds following consideration of any Defendants Costs Order.

Disbursements are the costs payable to third parties such as experts. Occasionally we may seek to instruct an expert report and costs of any disbursements in respect of this will be in addition to the above.

We are here to help you and your business recover monies that are owed.

In some cases, we can offer a fixed fee structure where that debt is not disputed.  Should the amount of that debt be in dispute however, we would need to discuss costs further with you and would look to agree a costs structure or limit in any matter.

Please note that the above costs do not include any enforcement action, or enforcements fees and should it become necessary to have to take enforcement action then we can discuss those further costs and fees, with you at that stage.

Our fee includes:

• Taking your instructions and reviewing documentation
• Undertaking appropriate searches
• Sending a letter before action
• Receiving payment and sending onto you, or if the debt is not paid, drafting and issuing claim
• Where no Acknowledgment of Service or Defence is received, applying to the court to enter Judgement in default
• When Judgement in default in received, write to the other side to request payment
• If payment is not received within 14 days, providing you with advice on next steps and likely costs

Matters usually take 4-12 weeks from receipt of instructions from you to receipt of payment from the other side, depending on whether or not it is necessary to issue a claim. This is on the basis that the other side pays promptly on receipt of Judgement in default. If enforcement action is needed, the matter will take longer to resolve.
