Ellie started working here at Southerns in March 2020. Coming straight from college she joined our admin team as a business administration apprentice before moving into Private Client and then into Court of Protection. She is now in her final year of her Solicitor Degree Apprenticeship with the University of Lancashire.
Read MoreShe has experience both supporting P and acting on behalf of family members in proceedings concerning their loved one. Ellie thoroughly enjoys the work she does and feels a great amount of job satisfaction and purpose in supporting vulnerable people and their families who need our help most. She is a huge believer in opportunity, so whether it is encouraging the public bodies to commission 1:1 hours to enable P to have community access or helping P to remain in their own home; Ellie loves the fact that she may be able to help make their lives better, one step at a time.
She says “I find that I learn better on my feet and Southerns Solicitors has been an amazing firm to work for whilst I have completed both of my apprenticeships. The team and management have always been incredibly supportive and provided me with a wide variety of opportunities to progress in my career. I am looking forward to qualifying as a Solicitor.”
Ellie’s career highlight:
“One of the highlights of my career is helping P stay in her own home, despite the local authorities attempts to move her into a care home which was against her wishes. We argued that P was able to stay at home, with the support of a package of care. 18 months later, P is still at home and regularly contacts me to let me know how she is doing.”
In her free time, she can be found in her walking boots, hiking the rolling hills of Lancashire with her adorable spaniel, Barney. She also enjoys the gym and spending time with her family and friends.
