Private Client Paralegal

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

• To manage files under the supervision of a fee earner
• To attend meetings and home visits where appropriate as requested by a fee earner
• To initiate contact with new prospective clients, to establish the nature of the case and funding and to give clients information in relation to procedure
• To open new files in accordance with procedure set out in the Office Manual
• To work closely with fee earners in the general conduct of cases including filing, typing and photocopying.
• Dealing with executors/trustees and beneficiaries
• Preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney
• Administration of trust files
• Assistance with the management of deputyships and the financial affairs of elderly clients in permanent residential care
• Regular contact with clients by telephone, email and general correspondence
• Keeping up-to-date with developments in the law and tax regulations

The successful candidate will ideally have: –

• • Experience in a similar role
• Methodical approach to work with good organisational skills and ability to prioritise
• • Good IT skills, able to communicate clearly, both in writing and in person
• • Good interpersonal skills
• • CILEX qualification/Law Degree/LPC (desirable but not essential)
• • A full UK driving licence

Salary commensurate with experience.
