Southerns are proud to support the Colne Society Rhythm and Blues Festival
It always fills us with pride to see local communities come together to organise and support events that bring people into our towns, and this year’s Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival in Colne was certainly something to celebrate.
The 35th annual festival took place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, from 28th to 30th August 2026, with music filling venues across Colne and attracting thousands of visitors from near and far.
Reaching its 35th anniversary is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved in organising the festival. We know first-hand just how much time, effort and dedication goes into making an event of this scale happen, as our very own Rebecca Sykes, a Solicitor in our Private Client department, is involved with the festival being such a success.
The award-winning festival celebrates the very best of blues music, bringing together established artists from across the UK and further afield alongside emerging and local talent. With performances taking place across Colne, the festival creates a fantastic atmosphere throughout the town and provides a welcome boost for local businesses, pubs and hospitality venues.
Some of the venues involved included the Pendle Hippodrome, The Muni Theatre and The Fort Vale Little Theatre, alongside a number of local pubs and venues, including Boyce’s Barrel.
We’re particularly pleased to have supported this year’s festival by sponsoring the pump clip at Boyce’s Barrel. It’s a small way for us to support a fantastic local event and the businesses and communities that help make Colne such a vibrant place to live and work.
