Southerns are Delighted to Announce Judicial Appointments for Two Members of the Team

We are incredibly proud that two valued members of our teams have been appointed to Judicial positions.

Kathryn Gibson has accepted the role of full time District Tribunal Judge for the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber. Kathryn will work within the area of Mental Health, an area in which she has built extensive expertise through both representing patients and serving as a part time Judicial Office Holder. Kathryn first joined Southerns back in 2015 as a Solicitor before leaving in 2019. She re-joined the firm in 2020 as a Consultant Solicitor. We thank Kathryn for her dedication and contribution to the firm over the years and wish her every success in her new role.

Laura Heywood has been appointed as a part time Deputy District Judge for Crime. We are thrilled to see Laura take on this new position, which will further enhance the knowledge and experience she brings to both existing and new clients here at Southerns. Laura will continue her role as a Consultant at Southerns alongside her Judicial Appointment.

Managing Director, Neil Cronin said: “We are all delighted with the appointments of both Kathryn and Laura, although naturally saddened that Kathryn will be leaving her role at the firm to focus on her new appointment. Laura’s new role complements her work here at Southerns and brings additional expertise and experience that will benefit our clients. We wish them both every success in their new roles.”
